Held on Saturday July the 6th at Riverslide Skatepark in the Alexandra Gardens, Melbourne.
It is always risky running events in the winter months, but we couldn’t have asked for better weather, with a hotter than average day completely rain free.
The level of skateboarding talent on the day was insane! Everyone who came down brought their A game and hammers were dropping left, right and center. Special shoutout to the people who traveled from interstate to compete in the Best Foot Forward competition, unfortunately there can only be one winner!
Massive congratulations to 21-year-old Joey Cormack from Byron Bay for taking out the top spot, taking home an all expenses paid trip to Texas, USA. Joey’s qualifying and finals runs were both of a professional standard. Good luck in the finals Joey!
This year Riverslide created a new mystery obstacle “The Shark Pit” built as the feature for the best trick cash jam. Essentially a terrifying open pit wheel chair ramp with no cross bar on the end. Ben Currie put on an absolute show landing over 6 tricks in the best trick, taking home the most cash overall. Nollie Heel first try after landing a Full Cab over the gap was ridiculous.
Special thank you to:
MC’s Anthony Mapstone and Pat Gemzik
Ryan Harbottle for building the Shark Pit
The Fast Times and Riverslide Skatepark crew
